The only parcel of the Disney-originated master-planned Celebration community designated for seniors housing, the $82 million Windsor at Celebration is on track to open in spring 2018 in Celebration, FL, according to Richard Ackerman, senior managing principal of developer/owner Big Rock Partners.

Pre-leasing for the 239 units in the six-story building began Thursday. The rental alternative to a traditional continuing care retirement community will include 151 one-bedroom, one-bedroom with den and two-bedroom independent living floor plan styles, along with 55 one- and two-bedroom assisted living and 33 one-bedroom memory care residences, all of which will be private.

“We’re creating a community that reflects Celebration’s unique appeal, combining the five-star hospitality of a grand hotel like The Breakers or The Biltmore, with a Disney-inspired spirit of ageless fun and discovery,” Ackerman said.

Located just south of Walt Disney World, the community’s amenities will include a rooftop sky bar, from which residents will be able to view Disney’s fireworks nightly, as well as a stadium-style screening room, where they will be able to watch first-run films. Residents will have access to an indoor pool and on-site fitness center as well as on-site events, activities and classes. Windsor at Celebration will feature hardwired Wi-Fi and 180-channel high-definition satellite TV throughout the community as well as a fenced perimeter and advanced locking system and keyless entry designed to foster a sense of safety.

The community of Celebration was developed by Walt Disney Co. in the 1990s. Global architectural firm Gensler designed the Windsor at Celebration, which will be managed by Life Care Services.

“We have always believed there was a special opportunity to extend the innovative, inspiring vision that was Celebration’s impetus to an equally special community where active-aging adults continue to thrive, with lifelong adventure, wellbeing and security,” said Angie Layfield, executive director of Windsor at Celebration.
