Allegro Senior Living has launched a new brand, Alto Senior Living, with the addition of three new properties to its portfolio.

The company said it acquired the communities in Alpharetta, Sandy Springs (Buckhead), and Marietta, GA, in a joint venture with Artemis Real Estate Partners. Allegro will be responsible for their day-to-day operation. They are the company’s first properties in Georgia. Allegro’s 14 other senior living communities are in Florida, Kentucky and Missouri.

“We’re honored to work with Artemis and make our entrance into the Atlanta market,” said Douglas Schiffer, president and chief operating officer of Allegro. “Alto communities will operate with Allegro’s culture of excellence.”

Allegro said the Alto brand represents “distinctive assisted living and memory care communities under Allegro Senior Living” and continues with the music-related theme of the original Allegro brand. “In addition to serving as a musical term, Alto represents an expectation of high standards,” according to the company. “Alto, in Italian, means ‘high,’ as in high living, high expectations and high service.”

All three communities offer assisted living and memory care. The Marietta community was built in 1998 and has 55 total units. The Alpharetta community was built in 1999 and has 72 units. The Buckhead community was built in 2000 and has 68 units.

Allegro said it plans to renovate and modernize the properties and improve health, wellness, dining and activities offerings.
