Some basic services common to most continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) include meals, grounds maintenance, local transportation, security systems and on-site physician services.

Some communities may offer a greater number of services than others, such as housekeeping, laundry service or the processing of Medicare and insurance reimbursement forms. Basic services most often are covered with the cost of the housing unit, but others may have to be paid for separately, depending on the CCRC.
