The 2016 LeadingAge Ziegler 150 list of largest not-for-profit multi-site senior living organizations includes three companies in the top 10 that weren’t even in the compilation at all last year.

Minnesota-based Benedictine Health is at the No. 5 spot, Missouri-based Ascension Living holds the No. 7 position, and Michigan-based Trinity Senior Living Communities comes in at No. 10.

An additional organization not on last year’s list, Illinois-based Presence Life Connections, also made the top 25 in 2016, in the No. 12 spot. Ziegler released the list of top 25 not-for-profit multi-site organizations in its latest Z-News e-newsletter on Friday.

The top four spots remain unchanged from 2015, with National Senior Campuses of Maryland at the pinnacle, followed by South Dakota-based Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society, Acts Retirement Services of Pennsylvania and Minnesota-based Presbyterians Homes and Services. Also returning from last year’s top 10 list but dropping two places each are the Retirement Housing Foundation of California (No. 6 last year and No. 8 this year) and Iowa-based Lifespace Communities (No. 7 last year and No. 9 this year).

The LZ 150 ranks organizations according to the overall number of market-rate units within their systems as of Dec. 31. LeadingAge and Ziegler will release the full report in the coming weeks. Additional listings in the report will provide insights into affordable housing properties and single-site providers.
