McKnight’s Senior Living is a finalist for six awards in the American Society for Business Publication Editors’ 2017 Azbee Awards competition, the organization for business-to-business journalists announced Friday. This year’s contest recognizes work completed in 2016.

Blogs by Senior Editor Lois A. Bowers are up for a total of two national awards and two regional awards in the Blogs – Analysis/Commentary and Blogs – How-to/Tips/Service categories. Additionally, Bowers is a contender for a regional award in the Enterprise News Story category for an article she wrote about a drug disposal rule proposed by the Environmental Protection Agency. And she is up for a regional award in the Photo Gallery/Slide Show category for an online slide show she created to accompany a blog about steps senior living communities can take to make a good first impression on prospective residents and their families.

McKnight’s Senior Living competes in the Upper Midwest region of the national competition; the region includes Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Regional awards will be bestowed May 4 in Chicago. National awards will be presented May 18 at ASBPE’s annual conference in St. Petersburg, FL.
