McLean, VA-based Sunrise Senior Living has rebranded seven of its urban California communities under the name of a new brand extension, Sunrise Villa, the company announced Monday.

“We are excited to continue our growth in California to address … housing needs and provide families in California with more options for a personalized experience that focuses on healthy aging,” Jeff Slichta, senior vice president of operations for Sunrise, said in a statement.

The new brand encompasses some of Sunrise’s newest acquisitions in Los Angeles, Placentia, Salinas, San Jose, San Ramon, Santa Rosa and Sonoma. Each community offers assisted living services and care for those in the early stages of memory loss. Sunrise Villa San Ramon also offers independent living services.

The brand, according to the company, focuses on supporting the personal health and wellness goals of its residents. Before moving in, each resident completes a worksheet describing his or her goals, history, spiritual preferences, occupation, hobbies, skills, interests and preferences. Each location features programming driven by resident feedback, according to the company.

“We know that different customers want different experiences, and Sunrise Villa presents us with an opportunity to bring our leading services to benefit more seniors and their families,”  said Meghan Lublin, senior vice president of marketing and communications for Sunrise.

Among other amenities are indoor and outdoor communal spaces and family-style dining rooms where in-house chefs can prepare customized meals. Sunrise Villa communities also offer cleaning and laundry services, upon request.

Sunrise operated 320 senior living communities in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as of July 1. The total includes 19 Gracewell Healthcare communities.
