North Carolina police nab arson suspect

A man who allegedly set an assisted living facility on fire has been arrested in Lincolnton, NC.

Tristan Michael Smith, 22, was charged with first-degree arson for intentionally starting the fire at Carillon Assisted Living in November. He remains in the Lincoln County jail on a $250,000 bond.

The fire began in the building’s hallway, and sprinklers largely limited its damage, according to the Lincolnton Fire Department. More than 50 residents were moved to other areas of the building that were not harmed by the fire.
