The Goodman Group promotes Kim Te Brugge to vice president of operations
Kim Te Brugge has been promoted to vice president of operations for the senior living and healthcare division of The Goodman Group. She will be based at the home office in Chaska, MN, and will oversee operations for the company’s growing portfolio of 33 managed communities as well as two home healthcare agencies.
Te Brugge has held several positions within The Goodman Group since 2012, when she first served as a community executive director in Phoenix. In 2014, she was promoted to regional director of operations for Arizona, Florida and Montana.
With more than 20 years of experience in all areas of healthcare administration, Te Brugge began her career in Ontario as a licensed nursing home administrator for several sites and corporate management consultant. After 10 years of experience, she then served as a healthcare operations and administration consultant in Chandler, AZ.
Te Brugge holds a Master of Science degree in gerontology with a specialization in long-Term care administration from Abilene Christine University. She has an undergraduate degree in physical education, with an emphasis in physical education for older adults, from the University of Ottawa.
Carol Silver Elliott tapped as next LeadingAge board chair
Jewish Home Family President and CEO Carol Silver Elliott has been selected unanimously by the national LeadingAge Board of Directors to be its chair-elect and next board chairperson.

Carol truly represents the winning combination of high, yet realistic, personal and professional standards that has marked her as an outstanding leader and innovator in our profession.”
Since 2014, Silver Elliott has been president and CEO of The Jewish Home Family, the parent organization the Jewish Home at Rockleigh, Jewish Home Assisted Living, Jewish Home Foundation and Jewish Home at Home. Previously, she served as president and CEO of Cedar Village Retirement Community in Cincinnati.
Silver Elliott headed the Association of Jewish Aging Services from 2013 to 2015. She also is a member of the boards of LeadingAge New Jersey and the Visiting Nurse Association.

William A. Dombi to serve as interim president of NAHC
William A. Dombi has been chosen as interim president of the National Association for Home Care & Hospice following the recent death of longtime NAHC President Val. J. Halamandaris.
Dombi has three decades as NAHC’s vice president for law and has served as executive director of the Home Care & Hospice Financial Managers Association. His career in healthcare policy and law spans 40 years.
Kristine Delgado named senior vice president of sales and marketing for Clearwater Living
Kristine Delgado has been appointed senior vice president of sales and marketing for Clearwater Living.
With more than 20 years of industry experience, she will lead the day-to-day sales and marketing operations as well as be responsible for advancing the company’s brand and identifying key markets for development.
Before joining Clearwater Living, Delgado was the senior vice president of sales and marketing for MBK Senior Living. Over the course of her career, she has provided oversight to more than 100 senior living communities. In addition to successfully pre-leasing apartments while they were under construction, Delgado consistently has met or exceeded stabilization goals for the communities she managed throughout the Western United States and Canada, according to Clearwater Living.
She is a member of the California Assisted Living Association’s Education Committee and previously was a part of the advisory board for referral service A Place for Mom. Delgado studied business and communications at Sacramento State College.
Tom Carlson named director of dining services for Wind Crest
Tom Carlson has been named director of dining services for Wind Crest, an Erickson retirement community in Highlands Ranch, CO.
He comes to Wind Crest just a few months after the community debuted the new Signature Dining program, which features fresh, made-to-order, resident-focused menu offerings.
Carlson has an extensive background in the foodservice industry, having spent more than the past 15 years with a large national and international restaurant company. As a previous business owner, he has leadership experience in finance, marketing, business development, community relationships, media partnerships and advertising and creative development.
Carlson completed his MBA degree from University of Phoenix in 2002 and holds an undergraduate degree in business/marketing from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Dannie Ocasio named life enrichment assistant at The Springs at Monarch Landing
Dannie Ocasio is the new, life enrichment assistant at The Springs at Monarch Landing, a life plan community in Naperville, IL. He helps ensure that residents’ days are full.
Ocasio has a degree in youth and family ministry from Lincoln Christian University.
Monarch Landing offers independent living, and The Springs at Monarch Landing offers assisted living memory support, enriched living, respite, rehabilitation and skilled nursing services. The life plan community is owned by Senior Care Development and managed by Life Care Services.

The Indiana Health Care Association/Indiana Center for Assisted Living will honor recipients of the 2017 Senior Living Awards today at its annual convention.
Award winners are selected from peer and colleague nominations.

Equinox Terrace Assisted Living to present annual senior service award
For the past 27 years, Gail Rice has paid weekly visits to Equinox Terrace Assisted Living in Manchester, VT, to read aloud and spend time with the residents at the assisted living community.
Due to her dedication to giving back and her willingness to serve others, Equinox Terrace is presenting Rice with the annual Equinox Terrace Assisted Living Senior Service Award on Friday. The senior service award acknowledges the important work seniors do to give back to their community and is presented by Equinox Terrace each year to a senior volunteer who dedicates his or her time to the benefit of other local seniors.
Additionally, the community will recognize Bennington County Meals on Wheels for the organization’s commitment to providing nutritious food to people in need.
Meals on Wheels and Rice will each be awarded a $500 gift from Equinox Terrace Assisted Living.
“We are thrilled to recognize area volunteers and organizations that provide services for the betterment of those in need — especially seniors — in our local community,” said Ann Bouza, executive director of Equinox Terrace. “Gail Rice and the staff and volunteers at Bennington County Meals on Wheels are the perfect example of what it means to serve others selflessly. Triloma expands senior housing adviser, hires chief investment officer
Investment management firm Triloma Financial Group has expanded its senior housing adviser, Triloma Senior Housing, by hiring chief investment officer James Hendrix.
The firm said it is actively looking to acquire healthcare and senior housing properties, has been actively raising capital for senior housing investments since 2014 and closed a $25 million seniors-housing focused private placement offering last year.
Before joining Triloma, Hendrix was vice president of acquisitions at ROC Seniors, a division of Bridge Investment Group that invests in seniors housing and medical property assets. Throughout his career, he has been involved in the acquisition of more than $2 billion in healthcare assets in both public and private investment vehicles, according to Triloma. Hendrix’s first priority will be to identify and acquire seniors housing properties for future investment opportunities the firm is planning.
Magda Lenartowicz, M.D., and Terence Offenberger, M.D., appointed medical directors at SCAN
Magda Lenartowicz, M.D., and Terence Offenberger, M.D., have been appointed medical directors at Long Beach, CA-based SCAN, a senior-focused organization with the mission of keeping seniors healthy and independent.
They will collaborate with the healthcare services and quality improvement teams at SCAN and oversee clinical programs for Independence at Home, a SCAN community service.
Offenberger will provide clinical direction across SCAN Health Plan staff and contracted providers. Together, Lenartowicz and Offenberger add their medical knowledge to SCAN’s broad clinical expertise, helping to ensure the quality and efficiency of care and service seniors receive.
Lenartowicz is a trained internist with a fellowship in geriatric medicine and social scientist with a specialization in gerontology. Before joining SCAN she founded a home health company and taught gerontology at McMaster University. Most recently she served as medical director at a comprehensive geriatric inpatient service in Southern California and continues her clinical work as a hospice and palliative care physician with Rozeroom Hospice.
Lenartowicz received her geriatric fellowship training from University of California, Los Angeles, and completed her undergraduate medical training and residency at the University of Saskatchewan. Her undergraduate training in gerontology was obtained at McMaster University.
Offenberger is board-certified in internal medicine and a fellow at the American College of Physicians. Most recently, he served as the Southern California market medical director for United Health Plan, where he worked closely with network hospitals and medical groups to optimize their performance, medical management, data submission and other clinical initiatives. He previously held positions at UnitedHealthcare, Kaiser, Anthem Blue Cross and MemorialCare Medical Group.
In the field of academia, he taught medical students and residents at the University of California, Irvine, where he also completed his residency. Offenberger received his medical degree from New York University and earned his MBA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Michael McCullough to serve as Via Christi’s chief financial officer
Via Christi Health has named Michael McCullough as its chief financial officer, a role he has been filling on an interim capacity since March.
“Michael brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in healthcare finance, which has benefitted us greatly during the five months he has been part of our senior leadership team,” said Mike Mullins, Via Christi’s CEO and Ascension Kansas ministry market executive. “I’m confident he will continue to be a valuable contributor as we continue to address the challenges of healthcare finance.”
McCullough previously was CFO for Acadia Healthcare’s Willingham division in Franklin, TN, where he provided financial oversight for 11 hospitals. Before that, he was CFO of Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, where he was responsible for financial operations of its three hospitals and 110-physician multispecialty and primary care physician group.
McCullough graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with an undergraduate degree in accounting and is a certified public accountant.
In Kansas, Ascension’s Via Christi Health operates nine hospitals and 75 other sites of care and employs more than 6,000 associates. Ascension operates 2,500 sites of care, including 141 hospitals and more than 30 senior living facilities, in 24 states and the District of Columbia.
