Blue Willow Systems has begun to install its fall detection and alert system in senior care communities in the United States and Canada and has a presence at the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care fall conference, distributing literature at the tabletop exhibits and holding an off-site launch reception.

CEO Vikram Devdas said he founded the company after his father passed away following an undetected fall. His system is designed to allow senior care communities to automatically monitor the health and location of their residents using a variety of wearable and non-wearable sensor devices.

The patented software-as-a-service technology is delivered through the cloud. The wearer does not have to pull a string to activate it.

Other features:

  • The system uses wearables and sensors within a resident’s living space and sends information instantly to mobile and desktop dashboards for caregivers and operators.
  • Blue Willow Systems is cloud-based, so data and tools can be accessed wherever needed.
  • The SaaS model allows communities to buy only what they need.
  • Automatic monitoring, reporting and alerts provide real-time insights. Always-on monitoring issues alerts when risks are detected. Reports can provide insights into trends and issues to consider watching.
