John O'Connor

We are hearing a lot these days about the need for greater investment in senior living. It’s a legitimate concern at a time when some of the leading firms are struggling, and the demand for new innovation has never been greater.

But what about the need to invest in your career? Are you as on top of things as you should be? Are there issues that you probably should know more about — but just don’t have the time to pursue?

I ask because there is an event happening next week that is worthy of your most valuable asset — your time. I’m referring to our inaugural McKnight’s Senior Living Online Expo, which takes place on Tuesday, June 20.

Among the highlights of the event will be three live, one-hour webinars. Each has received accreditation through the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards.

  • At an 11 a.m. ET session, Renee Kinder, MS, CCC-SLP, RAC-CT, will discuss disease progression and how attendees can deliver person-centered care to residents with dementia.
  • At 1 p.m. ET, Linda Shell, DNP, MA, RN, will share how to reduce falls, pain and polypharmacy in senior living by helping to improve sleep in older adults.
  • At 2:30 p.m. ET, Tommy Corner, Ed.D., and Mark Woodka will discuss how senior living operators can find the best candidates for their open positions and then engage and keep them.

Perhaps best of all, this is a no-cost event. Free CE credits? Not a bad deal.

Attendees also will be able to network live with colleagues and vendors, visit virtual booths and learn about the latest products, services and industry trends at a virtual trade show.

And unlike the hassle of traditional trade shows, this one does not require travel, hotel expenses or the inconvenience of being gone for days on end.

To register, simply go here.

The McKnight’s Senior Living Online Expo promises to be time well spent. You can earn CE credits and not pay a dime. Oh, and you’ll learn a ton. As no-brainers go, this might be the biggest one of the year.
