Nine assisted living communities have earned 2016 Silver – Achievement in Quality Awards from the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living, the organizations announced Thursday. It’s the highest number of Silver Awards that have been given to assisted living communities since the program’s inception in 1996.
The award is the second of three progressive distinctions possible through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award program, which is based on the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program. At the silver level, members develop and demonstrate effective approaches that help improve performance and healthcare outcomes.
Assisted living communities honored at the silver level:
- Kindred Assisted Living Village Crossings in Cape Elizabeth, ME
- Spiritwood at Pine Lake Assisted Living and Memory Care in Issaquah, WA
- Fairway Pines Senior Living in Sauk Centre, MN
- Samaritan Springs in Beatrice, NE
- Sunrise of Decatur in Decatur, GA
- The Stratford in San Mateo, CA (Sunrise Senior Living)
- Francis E. Parker at Stonegate in Highland Park, NJ
- Sunrise at Webb Gin in Lawrenceville, GA
- Sunrise of Johns Creek in Johns Creek, GA
Sixty-two skilled nursing facilities also earned silver-level recognition.
Bronze-level awards previously were announced for 141 assisted living communities — also a record — and 398 skilled nursing facilities. Gold-level awards will be announced later this summer.
The program is sponsored by AHCA/NCAL associate business members My InnerView, National Research Corp. PointRight, Team TSI Corp. and First Quality. All awards will be presented Oct. 18 during AHCA/NCAL’s 67th annual meeting
