McKnight’s Senior Living has been named the best healthcare website in the country, winning the Gold Award in the Best Website/Online Presence of a Publication category of the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors’ ASHPE Awards competition.

The award celebrates “overall excellent editorial content and balance, graphic design, and interactive features that engage an active community.”

The 2017 winners were announced Friday. The annual competition is open to all U.S.-based writers, editors and graphic artists involved in the healthcare publishing industry. Recognized from McKnight’s Senior Living were Senior Editor Lois A. Bowers, Editorial Director John O’Connor and Art Director Mark Speakman.

“This is quite an honor for McKnight’s,” O’Connor said. “I’m especially proud of Lois Bowers. The work she has done to make ours the best website in the business is truly amazing,” he added.

This year’s honor for the brand builds on the success of the Silver Award that McKnight’s Senior Living won last year in the same category for efforts in its inaugural year.

The McKnight’s Senior Living website, free Daily Briefing newsletter and social media efforts on Twitter and Facebook were launched in August 2015, building on the existing print brand formerly known as McKnight’s Assisted Living, which has been published since 2003.
