Judson Park, in Des Moines, WA; The Terraces of Phoenix in Arizona; and Rosewood, in Bakersfield, CA, have been certified as centers for successful aging by Masterpiece Living. The former two continuing care retirement / life plan communities are managed by American Baptist Homes of the West, and the latter one is owned and managed by ABHOW.

Masterpiece introduced the CSA certification program in 2013. The program measures elements across all levels of living within an organization, such as a successful aging culture, as reflected through empowering language and visible commitment to successful aging; engaged leadership; community outreach; active coaching; and staff-to-resident engagement.

“It’s important that our residents are highly engaged in our community, and each is supported in their own holistic growth goals,” said Nikole Jay, executive director at Judson Park. “We focus on the relationships and resilience needed to age successfully. Creating this culture is one of our top priorities, and we hope to set a positive example for other senior organizations and individuals by highlighting what’s possible when it comes to successful aging.”

Judson Park representatives said they are looking forward to achieving the goal of helping residents continue to grow in reaching their full potential.

“Being physically, socially, spiritually and intellectually active has been shown to provide countless benefits for older adults,” said Ken Ray, fitness coordinator for Judson Park. “We want to provide top-notch services to our residents, and the CSA certification represents our commitment to staying innovative and continuing to raise the bar in all that we do.”
