The National Institute on Aging of the National Institutes of Health, the Administration for Community Living and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have announced three free webinars on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias for aging services professionals and others. Continuing education credit is available.

“Alzheimer’s & Dementia: Resources You Can Use” will be held Sept. 22 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. ET. The event number is 623 719 567.

Participants will learn how the federal government is updating and implementing the National Alzheimer’s Plan, will learn about new tools for brain health and will receive updates on information and support resources for service providers, caregivers and consumers.

“What’s Happening in Alzheimer’s Research?” will be held Oct. 21 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. ET. The event number is 623 031 136.

Participants will receive an overview of current Alzheimer’s research directions and studies, presented by leaders in the field. Among the topics covered will be research plan to cure, treat or prevent Alzheimer’s and related dementias by 2025; investigating how exercise and diet affect dementia risk; and using technology to monitor, manage and study dementia.

“Caregivers Supporting People With Dementia: New Research and Technology” will be held Nov. 17 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The event number is 623 017 900.

Participants will learn more about new tools and strategies to support dementia caregivers.
