Some Stetson University students have moved into a nearby assisted living and memory care community, reports the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

About 85 student are living at Florida’s Grand Villa of DeLand, a recently converted former hotel, where residents are expected to move in in November. Although the students and residents will live on separate floors and enter the six-story community through separate entrances, the university and senior living provider told the newspaper that they expect intergenerational interaction through student internships and volunteering.

Stetson formerly leased space in the building in 2013 when it was a hotel. Its current lease lasts through 2016, according to the media report. Representatives of the Florida Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living believe the arrangement is unique.
