Aegis Living came in at No. 46 on Glassdoor’s latest list of the 50 best large employers. It’s the first time that a senior living organization has made the list.

The job and recruiting website’s Best Places to Work in 2017 rankings, part of its Employees’ Choice Awards, recognize employers with 1,000 or more employees. A separate list honors small to mid-sized companies.

Aegis Living, founded in 1997, employs more than 2,200 workers serving more than 2,000 older adults at 29 assisted living and memory care communities in California, Nevada and Washington. An additional six communities are under development in the Puget Sound region.

“We’re amazingly honored to be named as a Best Place to Work,” said Dwayne Clark, founder and CEO of the privately held company based in Redmond, CA. “Our employees deserve this award. They love our residents and value their wisdom. They make our high-touch culture an oasis in a high-tech world.”

The awards are based solely on the input of employees who voluntarily provide anonymous feedback about their job, work environment and employer over the past year. This year’s winners were determined using Glassdoor’s proprietary algorithm, considering the quantity, quality and consistency of reviews made between Nov. 2, 2015, and Oct. 30, 2016. At a minimum, employers considered for the list of large employers must have received at least 75 company reviews during that time.
