A new symposium and research are the anticipated outcomes of a new three-year corporate partnership announced by Argentum and real estate investment trust HCP on Wednesday. The announcement comes the week before Argentum’s annual meeting, set for May 9 to 12 in Denver.

The two organizations said they will collaborate on developing research and tools related to senior housing, healthcare investment and other aspects of the senior living industry. They also plan to develop a symposium focused on excellence in senior living operations, the resident experience, technology and business planning.

Operational excellence is one of five themes identified by Argentum in its “Getting to 2025: A Roadmap for the Senior Living Industry,” released earlier this year. Opportunities exist to develop benchmarks and share metrics, identify and enhance the use of technology, innovate by cultivating leaders and share best practices, the group said.

Workforce development is another theme in Argentum’s roadmap. J. Justin Hutchens, HCP’s executive vice president and chief investment officer for senior housing and care, will participate in a panel discussion about career growth in the senior living industry at Argentum’s annual meeting.
