Riverwood Retirement Management will be the management agent for a new memory care community, Westminster of Dallas, which will be the third Westminster-branded community in the Southeast and the first in Georgia.

The one-story campus will have special slip-resistant flooring and large-print descriptors designed to help with wayfinding. Two separate, secure walking trails will be designed to encourage residents to stay outdoors. The entrance will contain a large porte cochère with gas lights and skylights, and other amenities will include two living areas with a nurse-assisted “cyber café” for emailing and video call sessions. The dining rooms will have aquariums and bird sanctuaries. There also will be a large physical therapy room.

“We are very driven to develop this community, and we are glad to have Riverwood’s expertise during the early stages and the planning process,” James Deupree, the developer of the community, said in a statement. “The team truly understands my mindset and the vision for this community well.”

CDH Partners healthcare architects, which designed WellStar East Cobb nearby, will design the community with Beacon Construction Co.

The community is slated to open late next year.
