Siedel elected CFO, treasurer of Senior Housing Properties Trust

The Senior Housing Properties Trust Board of Trustees has elected Richard W. Siedel Jr. chief financial officer and treasurer for the trust, effective Jan. 1.

Siedel has been chief accounting officer of Five Star Quality Care since 2014 and previously had been controller of The RMR Group since 2013. Before that, Siedel had held various accounting leadership positions, including corporate controller, at Sensata Technologies Holdings NV from 2010 to 2013 and as an auditor at Ernst & Young LLP from 2001 to 2010. Siedel is a certified public accountant.

Siedel will succeed Richard A. Doyle Jr. as CFO and treasurer. Doyle is leaving SNH to become CFO and treasurer of Five Star.

Senior Housing Properties Trust is a Newton-MA-based real estate investment trust that owns senior living communities, medical office buildings and wellness centers throughout the United States. The REIT is managed by The RMR Group, which also provides management services to Five Star Quality Care. Five Star Quality Care is a tenant of Senior Housing Properties Trust and manages some of the trust's senior living communities.
