Silverado Bellingham, a 41,000 square foot, single-story memory care community in Bellingham, WA, is expected to open in late 2016.

The multimillion dollar community, for which the foundation was laid Sept. 11, has been designed to serve up to 80 people living with Alzheimer’s, dementia and other memory-impairing conditions. It is being constructed on four acres and will include skylights and sunrooms to draw in natural light and warmth. Living areas will include spaces for social interaction, and also incorporated into the design are a coffeehouse-style bistro, a beauty salon, a country store and a spa. The outdoor courtyard, with its covered patios and walkways, are designed to encourage residents to move freely among the gardens and fruit-bearing trees.
