Vi, the Chicago-based operator of 10 continuing care retirement communities in six states, has won a Chief Learning Officer magazine LearningElite Award for the seventh year in a row.

This year, Vi was ranked fourth out of 64 winners in the peer-reviewed benchmarking program, which recognizes organizations that invest in resources for learning and the development of employees.

“A LearningElite organization has an aligned, precisely executed learning strategy that is backed by leadership commitment,” said Sarah Kimmel, vice president of research and advisory services at the magazine’s parent company. “It consistently delivers learning impact that fosters competitive advantage, drives business results and makes a high-performing organization sustainable.”

“We know that our highly talented, engaged and tenured employees are at the heart of Vi’s brand promise to deliver exceptional service and quality care,” said Judy Whitcomb, Vi’s senior vice president of human resources, learning and organizational development. “Our continued investment in the company’s Management Development, Emerging Leaders and Breakthrough Leadership programs, as well as thousands of online, virtual and classroom training programs, support our goal of creating an environment where our employees can thrive and grow.”
