Manny Navarro hoists his trophy after winning the chef's competition.

Manny Navarro, executive chef of the Watercrest of Lake Nona assisted living and memory care community, earned top honors at the recent 10th Annual Senior Living Options Day & Chef Competition at Wickham Park Community Center, Melbourne, FL. The annual event is presented by One Senior Place.

His winning entrée was pork tenderloin stuffed with manchego cheese, dried cherries and shiitake mushrooms, alongside butternut squash mash and asparagus lyonnaise. It competed with 11 other entries.

Watercrest of Lake Nona offers 56 assisted living and 24 memory care units. It won the Silver Award in the Best 55+ Assisted Living / Special Needs Community On the Boards (under development) category in the National Association of Home Builders’ 2016 Best of 55+ Housing Awards.
