Mariola Rodriguez has been named memory care director of the new Watercrest of Lake Nona assisted living and memory care community, a 76,000-square-foot, 80-unit senior living residence in the 7,000 acre, master-designed community of Lake Nona, FL.

Rodriguez has more than eight years of experience in senior living and is an invited host of a local Living Well! Saturday morning radio show, where in a series of broadcasts she has shared her expertise on topics including Alzheimer’s disease and its progression, as well as current research updates.

“With her experience serving seniors and their families living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, Mariola brings compassion and a unique understanding of the importance of developing programs and care to enhance the lives of our residents,” says Michele Thompson, vice president of operations of Watercrest Senior Living and a nationally certified dementia practitioner.

Rodriguez says: “From the moment I met my first resident, I knew my purpose in life. From him, I learned that it is a combination of compassion and a desire to continuously meet an individual’s preferences and capabilities that elevates the quality of care delivered.”

Watercrest of Lake Nona offers 56 assisted living and 24 memory care apartments with spa amenities, fine dining, private label wines, locally grown organic fare, cultural programs and activities and outings.
