Continuing care retirement community CCRC executive directors — who saw only a modest 0.21% salary increase last year — gained an average of 3% this year, according to results of a new salary survey released Thursday. The national average for executive directors is now $154,795.

CCRC associate directors now earn an average of $111,590 annual salary, a 2.77% increase from last year. CFOs, meanwhile, saw a 2.22% boost for an average of $132,665 annually. Directors of nursing reported making an average $90,971 per year, a 2.34% jump from 2014, according to report authors. Assistant directors of nursing experienced a 1.93% salary increase from last year, for an average of $74,059.

In CCRC activities departments, directors enjoyed the biggest boost in their salaries over the past year, posting a 2.43% increase. The average national salary for CCRC activity directors is now $49,108, according to the “Continuing Care Retirement Community Salary & Benefits Report 2015-2016,” which is published by the Hospital & Healthcare Compensation Service, in collaboration with Leading Age and the American Health Care Association.

Activities coordinators saw a 1.86% increase in 2015, to reach an average salary of $36,282. Activity aides saw the smallest bump in pay among activity staff, with a 1.26% kick, for an average of $12.70 an hour, the report found.

The 18th edition of this annual report includes salary data compiled from more than 86,900 employees working in 42 management and 48 non-management positions.
