In a sign of a belief that things will start to return to normal later this year, Argentum has scheduled its in-person annual conference for September.

The Senior Living Executive Conference is slated for Sept. 13 to 15 at the Phoenix Convention Center. The exhibit hall will be open Sept. 14 and 15.

In a pre-pandemic world, the 2021 event had been planned for May 10 to 12 in Nashville, TN.

Argentum said it moved the conference to later in the year because “[t]hrough discussions with industry leadership, it is clear that senior living’s best outlook for returning to newly defined post-COVID operations relies heavily on the strength and efficiency of the vaccine distribution plan. And even with an effective COVID-19 vaccine widely available, operators will still need time to emerge from the day-to-day challenges brought on by COVID-19.”

The September conference, according to Argentum, “will look and feel very familiar to past in-person events,” with keynote speakers, conference tracks focused on key topics and an expo. Continuing education credits will be available.

For 2020, Argentum pivoted to a virtual event due to the pandemic. Last year’s event, originally planned for May 18 to 20 in Tampa, FL, was held online in September.

The association said it expects to return to its regular schedule next year.

“Please note that this date change is for 2021 only: Argentum will return the event to its annual Spring dates for 2022 and beyond,” the group said.
