Argentum has cited five senior living organizations for notable achievements in design.

The 2020 Senior Living by Design awards went to:

  • San Sereno, Auria Senior Living
  • Belmont Village Fort Lauderdale, Belmont Village Senior Living
  • St. Rita Square, Capri Senior Communities
  • The Resident at Penniman Hill, LCB Senior Living
  • Mapplewood at Southport, Maplewood Senior Living.

Smith Crossing Greenleaf Rehab of Smith Senior Living received an honorable mention. The annual recognition program honors architects, design firms and senior living providers.

This year’s winners fell under the theme of well-being, where vitality and serenity co-exist. Designs had a variety of options in outdoor spaces, seamless indoor-outdoor transitions, and flexible gathering places that could adapt to the changing needs of residents and the times.

Art, water features, natural materials and landscaping, and spa-like touches also stood out among this year’s winners.

“These designs are focused on bringing the best of senior living forward,” Argentum President and CEO James Balda said. “The wide variety of types of communities as well as the breadth of locations represented among the recipients showcases the choice and quality offered in senior living today.”

Argentum received 25 nominations this year, including an entry from South Africa. Winners were selected by an independent panel of judges representing the architecture, design and senior living fields.
