Chicago-based Hana2.0 Property Group LP has been formed to acquire, develop and lease via triple-net lease senior housing properties.
Craig M. Bernfield, founder and former chairman and CEO of Aviv REIT, is the founder and CEO of the new private company, which he said has “a passionate team of industry experts that knows how to invest in properties for seniors.”
“We know how to acquire, build and maintain best-in-class properties, designed for each operator and market, all over the country,” Bernfield added. “We have well-established, long-term industry relationships — most importantly, with operators who will triple-net lease properties from us because of our commitment to them and the relationships we cultivate.”
Aviv REIT was purchased by Omega Healthcare Investors in 2015, at which time Bernfield joined Omega’s board.
Others involved in Hana2.0, all of whom formerly worked for Aviv and Omega, include Josh Kochek, Sam Kovitz, Steve Levin and Jeff Marshall.
