Mease Manor Memory Care Groundbreaking

Mease Manor Retirement Community in Dunedin, FL broke ground for a new memory care center in August.

The memory care center will have 32 private suites and sit aside Mease Dunedin Hospital. The 20,000-square-foot building will have internal and external cameras and total monitoring. It will also have a new style of bathroom.

The leaders of Mease Manor saw the rising number of older adults in Pinellas County in need of memory support, executives said. The number of people with Alzheimer’s is expected to rise by almost 30% over the next 10 years, according to the Florida Golf Coast Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.

The building, which is being financed by SunTrust Bank, is scheduled to be completed next summer. Terbo Construction is the builder, and Slator and Associates is the architect.
