Maxwell Group promotes Benjamin Thompson to president

Benjamin Thompson

Benjamin Thompson has become the new president at Maxwell Group, the parent company to Senior Living Communities, Wellmore and Live Long Well Care.

He is a graduate of University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

Thompson has served in various roles during his eight-year tenure with the company. He joined the company as a marketing and finance intern and then moved into roles including operation analyst, vice president of procurement, vice president of special projects and vice president of development. Most recently, since December 2017, he had been executive vice president.

Acts Retirement-Life Communities announces six appointments

Acts Retirement-Life Communities has announced six appointments inside and outside the organization.

Stephen La Pierre has been appointed to the position of vice president of the Chesapeake region. He has over 30 years of healthcare leadership experience, including continuing care retirement communities, skilled nursing facilities, hospitals and long-term care insurance markets.

Terri A. White

Terri A. White, vice president of the Mid-Atlantic region, has been appointed for a two-year term to the board of LeadingAge, New Jersey. White has over 25 years of healthcare management experience. She is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in Delaware and is a Leading Age leadership fellow.

Jeremy Neely

Jeremy Neely, vice president of the Northeast region, has been appointed to board chair of LeadingAgePA, where he most recently served as treasurer. Neely has more than 20 years of healthcare management experience and is a licensed nursing home administrator.

Brian Levesque has been appointed as executive director of The Evergreens, an Acts Affiliate Community in Moorestown, NJ. Levesque joined Acts in 2013 and most recently was executive director of Gwynedd Estates in Ambler, PA.

Donna Thompson has been appointed as executive director of Gwynedd Estates, in Ambler, PA. Donna joined Acts in 2007 and most recently was executive director of Spring House Estates in Lower Gwynedd, PA.

Elmer Heiland has been appointed as executive director of Spring House Estates in Lower Gwynedd, PA. Heiland joined Acts in 1998 and most recently was executive director of Granite Farms Estates in Media, PA.

Springpoint Senior Living appoints Julia Zauner to vice president of marketing

Julia Zauner

Julia Zauner has been promoted to vice president of marketing at Springpoint Senior Living.

Zauner began working at Springpoint in 2010 and has had numerous roles there, including the development and refinement of Springpoint’s digital marketing platforms, customer relationship management applications, call center, marketing automation, media relations, content strategy, social media, online reputation, production of videos and annual reports.

Prior to working for Springpoint, she worked in senior positions at advertising agencies and media organizations. Zauner also spent a number of years managing her own marketing communications consulting business.

Aegis Living West Seattle names Alice Bouman general manager

Alice Bouman

Alice Bouman has become the new general manager at Aegis Living West Seattle.

Bouman has held leadership positions at the Four Seasons in the past, including Atlanta, London and Lana’i City. Most recently, she was general manager for Vanderbilt Hotel in Newport, RI.

 Oswego Health announces two new leadership positions

Amanda Saternow has become the long-term care community liaison and Michael Cali has become the director of operations at the Springside branch of Oswego Health.

Saternow and Cali will work together to increase awareness and enhance the retirement community at Springside. Saternow will be in charge of the sales and lead development, whereas Cali will oversee the daily operations.

Saternow is a graduate of SUNY Oswego and most recently worked at the college’s Office of Business and Community Relations. Cali has worked for the health system for the past 10 years as an emergency department technician and Springside’s executive chef.

Wellington at Hershey’s Mill names Robert Greer director of healthcare services

Robert Greer

Robert Greer has been named the new director of healthcare services at Wellington at Hershey’s Mill, a Benchmark Signature Living Community in West Chester, PA. In this role, he will oversee day-to-day healthcare operations and administration at the senior living community.

Greer has over 30 years of senior living experience and has had other positions with Five Star Senior Living, Forwood Manor and Shipley Manor.

Juniper Communities appoints two to positions

Tami Williams

Tami Williams was promoted to the executive director of Juniper Village of Meadville, Meadville, PA, and Britny Otto became the executive director of Juniper Village at Louisville, a Wellspring Memory Care Community in Louisville, CO.

As executive directors, Williams and Otto will ensure that residents receive the highest level of services, programs and care in their respective communities.

Prior to their recent appointments, Williams was Juniper’s director of wellness and a long-term care nurse at two skilled nursing facilities, and Otto had a career in senior living as an executive director, marketing consultant, medical technician and resident care coordinator.

Senior Living Communities has announced several new hires to two locations, Brightwater and Marsh’s Edge.

Angelique Brey has been hired by Brightwater, in Myrtle Beach, SC, to be the new resident care coordinator. She joins the Brightwater team after 20 years working in the healthcare industry.

Jeffrey Bushnell has joined the Brightwater team as the new care services scheduler. He has worked in the healthcare industry for the past three years.

Natalie Dixon

Phyllis Johnson was hired by Brightwater to become the new Live Long Well Care staffing coordinator. Johnson has previous experience in the senior living industry.

Natalie Dixon has become the new wellness director at Marsh’s Edge, Saint Simons Island, GA. Dixon has worked at Marsh’s Edge for the past seven years and previously was a wellness associate.

Jay Dawson

Jay Dawson has been named the director of facility services at Marsh’s Edge. Dawson joins the team after previous experience as a hotel engineering manager in the hospitality and tourism industry.

Ventana by Buckner executive director passes suddenly

Rick Pruett

Rick Pruett, the executive director of Ventana by Buckner, Dallas, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on June 8. He was 53.

The cause of death was determined to be a heart attack. Pruett is survived by his wife of 25 years, Relinda (Lindy), and their two sons, Trey and Braden.

The memorial service for Pruett was held June 15 in Denton, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the American Diabetes Association.

Pruett was announced as the executive director of Ventana by Buckner on June 13, 2018, and officially started in the position on June 18.

He began his work in senior living in 1998. Throughout his career, he worked for Life Care Services, served as vice president of management services for Greystone Communities in Irving, TX, and was executive director / administrator for three senior living communities.

LeadingAge director of residential communities retires

Steve Maag, director of residential communities at LeadingAge, recently announced his retirement, effective June 14.

While working at LeadingAge, Maag helped support its legal committee and established the in-house counsel network. He spoke to several boards of directors about trends in the field of long-term services and care.

Before joining LeadingAge, he was in private practice in Seattle.

Zanthion appoints chief technology officer

John Hagelgans has joined Zanthion as their new chief technology officer.

Zanthion is an AI digital healthcare company specializing in PaaS, the integration of an extensible architecture of sensors, wearable devices and environmental equipment for group senior living.

Prior to joining Zanthion, Hagelgans worked at Greenlight Financial Technology, where he was a founder and served as chief technology officer and head of data and analytics. In his new position, he will assist in enhancing the Zanthion suite of data‐rich wearables and environmental sensors with AI.

CommCreative promotes two members for creative team

George Koukkos and Carter Kasdon have been promoted at CommCreative, a marketing company. Koukkos became executive creative director and Kasdon is now creative director/art director.

Koukkos joined the company in 2017 after 15 years of experience at other creative agencies that include Allen & Gerritsen and Hill Holliday. Kasdon became a part of CommCreative in 2016 after working at Racepoint Global, the Boston Group and Allen Gerristen.

Monticello Asset Management appoints senior managing director

F. Donald Kelly III has been named senior managing director for Monticello Asset Management, a real estate firm that offers financing options for assisted living facilities, affordable housing facilities, skilled nursing facilities and commercial real estate throughout the United States.

Kelly’s prior work experiences include senior director of Pacific Western Bank’s Healthcare Finance Group, where he helped originate over $1 billion in loans to senior housing and long-term care companies; managing member of Energy Court Capital, an advisory firm focused on raising capital, structuring debt, mergers and acquisitions and restructurings for seniors housing and long-term care companies; and as executive vice president of Covington Senior Living, where he led financing and other strategic initiatives.
