Jayne Sallerson to join Charter Senior Living as chief sales and strategy officer

Jayne Sallerson is joining Chicago-based Charter Senior Living as investor, partner and chief sales and strategy officer effective Nov. 27.

For the past 20 years, Sallerson has served in various senior management roles for both large and small senior care organizations. She has developed and executed sales and marketing strategies, as well as infrastructures, that have increased occupancy and sales management accountability for more than 750 senior living communities throughout the United States. Most recently, she served as executive vice president of sales for Benchmark Senior Living and spent seven years as EVP of sales and marketing for Emeritus Senior Living before its merger with Brookdale Senior Living.

Family-owned Charter manages 12 independent living, assisted living and memory care communities in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri and Tennessee. Company executives are located in Chicago; Tampa, FL; Atlanta; and New Orleans.

David Haddock joins Morning Pointe as professional development executive

David Haddock Jr., CPA, Ed.D., has been appointed professional development and leadership executive and consultant to Ooltewah, TN -based Morning Pointe Senior Living founders Greg Vital and Franklin Farrow.

The company provides senior healthcare services and is a developer, owner and manager of 30 Morning Pointe Senior Living and The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Memory Care Center of Excellence communities in five southeastern states. Haddock, a former university administration veteran, professor of accounting and recent retiree from a top-50 CPA firm, will oversee, evaluate and enhance the company’s business and teamwork strategy.

Haddock has more than 35 years of faculty and administration experience in higher education. He earned a doctorate of education in administration of higher education from Auburn University and graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s degree in adult education.

He recently retired as the director of training for Brentwood-based financial services firm Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain PC. Earlier, he retired from Chattanooga State Community College as the associate vice president for academic affairs. Haddock’s long career at the college included serving as a tenured full professor, dean of two divisions and president of the faculty senate.

Haddock is a long-time author with McGraw-Hill publishing company. His most recent textbook, “College Accounting,” is in its 15th edition and has a copyright date of January 2017.

A lifetime member of the Tennessee Society of CPAs, Haddock served as the 2012-2013 chairman of the professional association after serving on the board of directors for more than 10 years.

Colette Emery joins Crescent Point at Niantic as director of community relations

Colette Emery has been named director of community relations at Crescent Point at Niantic, a Benchmark Senior Living community in Niantic, CT.

The community offers independent living, assisted living and Alzheimer’s care.

Emery has worked in aging and senior living for more than 20 years. She began her career at the University of Connecticut Geriatric Assessment Center and then worked for 13 years at two regional senior living communities.

Sherrie Predojev is community relations director of Market Street Memory Care Residence

Sherrie Predojev has joined Watercrest Senior Living Group as community relations director of the 60-unit Market Street Memory Care Residence in Viera, FL.

Predojev brings to her new role more than 30 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse with an extensive background in mental health and psychiatry, geriatrics, rehabilitation and home health.

All Market Street care associates are nationally certified dementia care practitioners.

Jill McDonald named executive director of The Residence at Orchard Grove

Jill McDonald has joined the Residence at Orchard Grove in Shrewsbury, MA, as executive director. The independent living, assisted living and memory care community is owned and operated by LCB Senior Living.

McDonald has 20 years of experience in operations and management and 10 years of experience as an executive director within the assisted living industry. She was executive director of Bridges by EPOCH in Mashpee, MA, leading the community to reach 100% occupancy in 17 months. She also was executive director of Traditions of Dedham in Dedham, MA.

Frank Pascale named executive director at Juniper Village at Chatham

Frank Pascale has been named the new executive director of Juniper Village at Chatham in Chatham, NJ.

Pascale has been working at Juniper for eight years, starting as food service director and obtaining his administrator’s license six years ago. In his role as executive director, he will oversee all operations of the community, ensure state regulations and company policies are adhered to and be a resource for residents, families and associates.

“This is an exciting time to be leading one of Juniper’s assisted living communities,” Pascale said. “We are currently rolling out the company’s Connect4Life program that provides integrated, individualized healthcare and service that is both high-tech by utilizing electronic health records with data from multiple health care provider, and high-touch by providing a medical concierge service to oversee a resident’s healthcare needs.”

Tyler Gudex is executive director at Eastcastle Place

Tyler Gudex is executive director at Eastcastle Place, a Life Care Services community in Milwaukee.

He interned with the company as a college student. “Through LCS and my internship experience, I found that I really enjoy the senior population,” Gudex said. “I’m fortunate that I’ve been able to remain with LCS, and through them, continue to work with seniors ever since.”

Gudex went through LCS’s professional development program, which put him on a fast track to becoming an executive director.

“I knew that it was a career goal to become an executive director,” he said. “Working as an administrator of health services in Phoenix, the day-to-day operations of healthcare provided me excellent training in taking my next step as an executive director.”

Gudex next became the administrator and then interim executive director at Newcastle Place in Mequon. When the full-time executive director returned to her position, Gudex moved on to the role at Eastcastle Place.

Eastcastle Place offers independent living, and the Health Center at Eastcastle Place offers assisted living, memory support, rehabilitation and skilled nursing services.

Kailyn Brown named sales and marketing director of The Residence at Riverbend

Kailyn Brown has been selected as the new sales and marketing director at The Residence at Riverbend, an Ipswich, MA, independent living, assisted living and memory care community owned and operated by LCB Senior Living.

Brown has several years of experience within the healthcare and senior living industries. She has held several administrative roles with healthcare and pharmaceutical companies and began her career in senior living with Pilgrim Rehabilitation as director of marketing and community relations at its Peabody, MA, location. Before joining LCB, Brown was director of admissions and marketing with Blueberry Hill Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Beverly, MA.

Stacie Horan named retirement counselor at Asbury Place Maryville

Stacie Horan has joined Asbury Place continuing care retirement communities as retirement counselor for the Maryville, TN, campus.

In this role, she is responsible for sales and marketing for assisted living and memory care assisted living on the campus and provides clinical oversight for older adults transitioning to Asbury Place.

“Stacie comes to us with a 29-year career in healthcare, marketing and management of direct patient care,” said Marjorie Shonnard, vice president of operations for Asbury Place. “Her broad background and diverse skill set make her an asset for Asbury Place and for those choosing to live on our campus.”

Before joining Asbury Place, Horan served as director of admissions and marketing for Autumnwood of McBain, a 95-bed skilled nursing community in Michigan. She earned her nursing degree from Marymount School of Practical Nursing in Cleveland and holds a certification as an assisted living administrator.

Horan is a member of the Case Management Society of America and the Senior Networking Advocacy Group.

Justin Paradis named associate executive director at Brooksby Village

Justin Paradis is the new associate executive director at Brooksby Village in Peabody, MA, an Erickson Living continuing care retirement community with more than 1,700 residents.

Paradis has been with Erickson Living since 2006, beginning his tenure as a physical therapist.

“Justin has held several key leadership positions at the community, including assistant administrator and director of continuing care,” said Tracie Bettano, executive director of Brooksby Village. “He has also held positions at Linden Ponds, our sister community located in Hingham, MA.  All of these experiences, combined with his relationships here at the community and with our corporate partners, position him very well for success in his new role.”

Paradis holds an undergraduate degree in exercise science from the University of Massachusetts and a doctorate in physical therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions. Before joining Erickson, he worked as a physical therapist at Shaughnessey-Kaplan Rehabilitation Hospital in Salem, MA.

Matt Neal joins Home Care Assistance as VP of corporate development

San Francisco-based Home Care Assistance has appointed Matt Neal as vice president of corporate development.

Neal joins the company’s executive team with more a decade of experience in healthcare, corporate development and strategic planning. In his new role, he will be responsible for executing the company’s aggressive growth initiatives, with an emphasis on acquisitions.

Most recently, Neal served as the regional vice president of business development within McKesson Specialty Health, where he led investments to scale oncology practices. Before that, Neal served as a management consultant with Bain & Co., where he developed and implemented strategy for a range of healthcare and technology clients.
