Presbyterian Senior Living appoints James Bernardo new CEO

James “Jim” Bernardo has been named the new president and CEO of Dillsburg- PA-based  Presbyterian Senior Living. He has served as acting CEO since June, when Stephen Proctor retired. Bernardo has more than 40 years of senior living operations and leadership experience, 32 years of those with PSL.

Before serving in this role, was the organization’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, working his way up through the organization. Bernardo began his career with PSL as executive director for Westminster Village, Allentown, PA, and Kirkland Village, Bethlehem, PA.

In addition to his executive role, Bernardo is a surveyor for CARF International, the independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services. He also is a past member of the LeadingAge Board of Directors as well as treasurer and chair of its New Membership Task Force. Bernardo also is a former board chairman of LeadingAge PA.

Bernardo received an undergraduate degree in social work from LaSalle University and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Oakmont adds Tricia Ercoli, Carrie Delaney to sales and marketing roles

Tricia Ercoli is the new regional vice president of sales and marketing for Oakmont Senior Living’s central region, and Carrie Delaney is vice president of sales and marketing for new development.

Before joining Oakmont, Ercoli was vice president of strategy and business development with Sun Mar Healthcare. She also spent time with Encino Hospital Medical Center and Sherman Oaks Hospital, Epic Medical Group – Prime Healthcare as a marketing and communications manager. Before that, she was director of business development and marketing with Longwood Management.

Ercoli graduated from Rutgers University with an undergraduate degree in communications and lived abroad in Switzerland for five years, handling international sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Delaney formerly was a divisional vice president of sales and marketing with Integral Senior Living. She also spent time with Atria Senior Living as a community sales director before being promoted to regional director of sales and marketing.

Delaney graduated from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas with an undergraduate degree in culinary arts management.

Maplewood Senior Living names Margaret Holmes senior executive director

Margaret “Peg” Holmes has been promoted to senior executive director of Maplewood Senior Living’s Cape Cod communities.

She has almost 30 years of experience working with seniors in continuing care retirement communities. Holmes spent most of her career at the Mayflower Place continuing care retirement community, where she was executive director for 24 years.

In her new role, she will lead and support the communities throughout Cape Cod. She also will continue to serve as the primary operator of Maplewood at Brewster, where she has been executive director for four years.

Friendship names Susan Painter new director of admissions at Salem Terrace at Harrogate

Susan Painter has been named director of admissions and marketing at Salem Terrace at Harrogate, a Salem, MA, retirement community managed by Friendship.

Painter has more than 25 years of marketing experience, the past 11 of which were focused specifically on senior living.

A graduate from Radford University with a degree in mass communications, she also earned her certified dementia practitioner certificate.

Brightwater announces Susan Belcher as lifestyle adviser
