Tim DuRoss named COO at LCB Senior Living

Tim DuRoss

Tim DuRoss has been named chief operating officer for LCB Senior Living, the Norwood, MA-based developer and operator of independent, assisted and memory care communities.

He will oversee operations as the company continues a growth path that began in Massachusetts and has continued across five New England states and into New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia. The company owns and operates 18 communities, with four under construction.

DuRoss has been involved in the senior housing industry for more than 17 years and brings more than 22 years of financial experience to LCB. He previously was chief financial officer at LCB for four years. Before joining LCB, DuRoss was with Benchmark Senior Living and before that, Ziner, Kennedy and Lehan LLP.

Kerry Thurston named VP of operations at Watercrest Senior Living Group

Kerry Thurston

Kerry Thurston has been named vice president of operations at Vero Beach, FL-based Watercrest Senior Living Group.

She brings 15 years of senior living experience in the development and execution of capital investment strategies, asset management and senior level operations management to the Watercrest leadership team.

In her new role, Thurston will drive operational efficiencies, financial performance and standards of excellence for the multiple brands of senior living communities developed, owned and operated by Watercrest Senior Living Group. She will work to maximize performance by leveraging team strengths.

Thurston most recently was vice president of strategic operations for Senior Lifestyle Corp., where she drove strategic repositionings and oversaw a complex portfolio of senior living communities.

Watercrest has multiple senior living projects in development throughout the Southeast. The company recently celebrated its 14th senior living community groundbreaking in four years.

Monica Stinson appointed VP of human resources for Elder Care Alliance

Monica Stinson

Monica Stinson has been appointed vice president of human resources for Alameda, CA-based Elder Care Alliance, a nonprofit organization with communities offering a variety of services, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing.

Stinson joins the team with more than a decade of experience in all aspects of human resources, talent management and business operations. In her new role, she will be responsible for managing talent, retaining employees and solidifying the “employer of choice” culture at both the corporate and community levels.

Before joining Elder Care Alliance, Stinson was a regional HR professional for Sunrise Senior Living, where she had oversight of the HR group, consisting of 3,000 employees in 36 locations across California, Washington and Utah.

Stinson has a Master of Science degree in psychology from Northcentral University in Prescott, AZ. She also has a master’s degree in business administration and organizational development from Upper Iowa University.

Hollie Kemp named VP of dementia services and programming at Watercrest

Hollie Kemp

Hollie Kemp has been named vice president of dementia services and programming at Vero Beach, FL-based Watercrest Senior Living Group. She will lead memory care training and programming for the multiple brands of senior living communities developed, owned and operated by the company.

Kemp has almost 20 years of healthcare experience, having served in operations and corporate memory care leadership roles, skilled nursing, adult day and memory care positions and in the nonprofit sector as director of programs and services for the Alzheimer’s Association. She received Argentum’s 2017 Best of the Best award for the creation of “an innovative (memory care) program which works to improve the future of senior living.”

Kemp has an undergraduate degree in human biology, has undertaken graduate studies in social work and holds numerous certifications in Alzheimer’s and dementia care.

Erin Hosking named principal, executive director, of Dominion’s first location in Louisville, KY

Erin Hosking has been named principal, executive director, of Dominion Senior Living’s first community in Louisville, KY, slated to open in December. She will manage the complete spectrum of operations, including wellness, dietary, maintenance and sales and marketing.

Hosking comes to Dominion from Louisville-based Traditions at Beaumont Senior Living, where she was community relations director for the community. Before her time at Traditions, she was the community relations director for Elmcroft Senior Living and was a patient care and marketing coordinator with the former MD2U, both based in the Louisville area.  During her seven years as community relations director at Traditions and Elmcroft, Hosking focused on marketing the facilities and increased capacity by 90% for both organizations.

Hosking earned her undergraduate degree in public relations from the University of Kentucky.

Dominion Senior Living of Louisville is taking over the former Signature Healthcare’s Glenview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. The 42,000 square foot one-story building will maintain its original structure, but the interior will be fully renovated. It will include 41 assisted living and 20 memory care apartments.

Kevin Sutton-Brown named executive chef at Jackson Creek Senior Living

Kevin Sutton-Brown has been named executive chef at Jackson Creek Senior Living, an independent living, assisted living and memory care community set to open in November in Monument, CO. The community will be managed by WellAge.

In this role, he will oversee the community’s culinary team and three dining venues, ranging from a bistro café to a table-service restaurant within the community.

Sutton-Brown has more than 20 years of culinary and hospitality experience, including many years working with large senior living providers. He was director of culinary services for New Horizons Foods, a food service provider to senior living communities across nine states, and he served as executive chef for MorningStar Senior Living at Dayton Place in Denver.

Sutton-Brown also held several positions in the Indianapolis area, including kitchen manager for University Heights Health & Living Community, director of dining services for Bethany Village Assisted Living, dining services coordinator for Brookdale Place and director of food services for Westside Garden Plaza.

Sutton-Brown is a graduate of the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Boulder, CO, and a resident of Colorado Springs, CO.

Eric Forguson named senior director of originations at Love Funding

Eric Forguson has joined Love Funding, a provider of FHA multifamily, affordable and healthcare financing, as a senior director of originations. He joins the Love Funding team in St. Louis.

Forguson has more than 25 years of banking experience and expertise in historic tax credit and low income housing tax credit transactions. He previously worked at Love Funding’s parent company, Midland States Bank, as associate director of commercial banking. Before joining Midland States Bank, Forguson was a vice president at Associated Bank and a commercial relationship manager at US Bank.

Forguson has an undergraduate degree in finance from Southern Illinois University. He is the vice chairman of the board of directors for the St. Louis Equity Fund, which is a St. Louis-based LIHTC syndicator.

Kim Bucklew appointed to managing director of Southern California for Alliance Residential

Kim Bucklew has been named managing director, Southern California, for Alliance Residential Co., where she will be responsible for multifamily and senior housing production in markets such as Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego and the Inland Empire.

Bucklew most recently was managing director of development in Atlanta for the multifamily developer and manager and is transitioning to her new leadership position in the Alliance Newport Beach, CA, office. She has 13 years of experience in multifamily development, previously working with Wood Partners and Post Properties.

Bucklew received an undergraduate degree in business administration and an MBA from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.

Bucklew is an active member of Urban Land Institute’s Young Leader Mentorship Program and ULI’s Urban Development Mixed Use Council, Silver Flight. She also is a part of Alliance’s diversity initiative, Real Talk.

Hammes Co. promotes two

Hammes Co. has promoted Keith Munson to vice president and Edwige Clark to senior project executive.

Keith Munson

Munson has more than 13 years of healthcare project management and commercial project management experience. He provides the senior leadership for healthcare planning and development within central Florida and other Southeast areas. In his new role as vice president, Munson will continue to build relationships with clients and team members.

Munson has been associated with Hammes since December 2015 and previously was senior consultant for an international real estate firm leading healthcare projects and teams throughout the Southeast.

Edwige Clark

Clark has managed both large and small healthcare projects across South Florida. He has more than 13 years of experience as a contractor and hospital project manager, managing more than $1.2 billion in healthcare projects.

Clark is a certified general contractor and a LEED-accredited professional and has received numerous awards.
