Arbor welcomes Adam Grafton as SVP of dining services
Adam Grafton has joined the Arbor Co. as senior vice president of dining services.
In his new role, he will provide leadership, vision and innovation to support the company’s dining leaders with a focus on quality assurance and delivering an exceptional dining experience.
Grafton has more than 25 years of experience working in senior living communities and comes to Arbor from Compass Group, where he was vice president of culinary. In his previous role, he oversaw leadership training and development for more than 150 executive chefs while leading a team of culinary professionals.
Emerald Communities taps Diana Jamison as new VP-CFO
Diana Jamison has been hired as the vice president and chief financial officer at Redmond, WA-based Emerald Communities.
Before joining Emerald, Jamison gained almost two decades of experience in nonprofit senior housing organizations.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from California State University, East Bay.
Arbor hires Ronda Duckworth as VP of operations
Ronda Duckworth has joined the Arbor Co. as vice president of operations.
She has 23 years of experience in senior living and most recently was regional vice president at Commonwealth Senior Living.
Morning Pointe Senior Living promotes Charlie Harris to VP of sales
Charlie Harris was recently promoted to the position of vice president of sales at Ooltewah, TN-based Morning Pointe Senior Living. He joined the Morning Pointe team in 2021 as director of sales and marketing for the Cumberland Region.
Harris has a degree in psychology from Middle Tennessee State University.
Enso Village welcomes new CFO, Timothy Swords
Timothy Swords began serving in his new role as chief financial officer of Enso Village, a Zen-inspired life plan community in Healdsburg, CA, developed by the Kendal Corp. and the San Francisco Zen Center, on Monday.
He will oversee finance, accounting and audit as well as business process improvement and information technology. Swords has served as a board chair, management consultant and corporate executive and has more than 30 years of experience in driving revenue growth and scale across industries, including the nonprofit sector.
Previous positions include director risk manager for MUFG Union Bank, wealth markets vice president of strategy at Union Bank, vice president of strategy and planning at Fidelity Investments, and managing associate at PwC.
Swords currently is the board chair of Interaction Associates, a board member of the Alzheimer’s Association of Northern California and a member of the Professional Advisory Board of the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion.
He earned an MBA from the Harvard Business School and an undergraduate degree from Boston College. He also holds an executive coaching certificate from William James College and a professional mindfulness teaching certificate from the Mindfulness Training Institute.
Pegasus brings aboard Joy Pepper as executive director of Fort Worth community
Joy Pepper has been announced as the new executive director at Ridgmar Place by Pegasus Senior Living.
She has been in the senior living industry since 1978 in various leadership roles.
Morning Pointe names Kelly Wood executive director
Kelly Wood has been named executive director at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence in Louisville, KY. She will oversee daily operations at the Alzheimer’s and memory care community.
Wood comes to The Lantern from Vitality Living in Louisville, KY, formerly an Atria Senior Living community, where she worked for seven years. She started at the community as an activity assistant, then became the memory care director, the business office director and ultimately the executive director.
Wood earned her undergraduate degree in business administration from Spalding University.
Masonic Home / Pillars names Ralph Alvarado, MD, medical director
Ralph Alvarado, MD, has been named medical director and attending physician at Masonic Home Shelbyville and Pillars Assisted Living and Personal Care, Masonic Homes Kentucky.
Alvarado is an internal medicine specialist with more than 28 years of experience. He has been a Kentucky state senator for seven years, representing District 28, chairing the Senate’s Health and Welfare Committee and serving as a member of the Kentucky Nonprofit Caucus.
Masonic Homes Kentucky names Carmel Person, MD, medical director
Carmel Person, MD, has been named medical director at Crescent Grove Memory and Personal Care and Sam Swope Care Center, Masonic Homes Kentucky.
Person is an internal medicine specialist with almost 20 years of experience. He is a past president of Kentucky Society of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine.
Watercrest promotes Stephanie L’Heureux to director of accounting
Stephanie L’Heureux has been promoted to director of accounting for the Watercrest Senior Living Group.
L’Heureux is one of the longest tenured Watercrest employees, having joined the organization one year after its inception in the summer of 2012.
National Church Residences announces two new board members
Sean de Four, MSW, LMSW, and Jami Dewolf have been elected to the National Church Residences Board of Directors. They began their service Sept. 1.
de Four is president and CEO of Southwest Solutions. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Michigan and has served as an adjunct instructor in its School of Social Work since 2014.
Dewolf recently retired as chief marketing officer of Alliance Data Card Services. He holds a master’s degree in Human Resources and Strategic Planning from the University of Louisville and a bachelor’s degree in production and operations management from the Ohio State University.
LeadingAge Minnesota hires Mark Schulz as VP
Mark Schulz has joined the LeadingAge Minnesota staff as vice president of policy and regulatory affairs. Most recently, he was policy and legislative analyst with the Minnesota Department of Health.
Schulz is a military veteran and holds a certificate in human services leadership from the University of Minnesota Humphrey School of Public Affairs, a law degree from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering management from the US Military Academy at West Point.
NAB announces changes to executive leadership team
Michelle Grachek, MEd, CAE, will transition from chief operating officer to president of the National Association of Long-Term Care Administrator Boards, and Randy Lindner will remain in the CEO position, effective Jan. 1.
Grachek came to NAB in January 2016 after serving as the director of operations for the American College of Healthcare Administrators. Lindner has been NAB’s president and CEO for the past 27 years.
Health Dimensions Group hires Anne Hoeksema as senior regional director
Anne Hoeksema has been named senior regional director of sales and marketing at the Health Dimensions Group. She brings 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry to the role.
Hoeksema received her undergraduate degree from Illinois State University. She has the certified director of assisted living credential and is a licensed nursing home administrator.
UN honors Cobb Institute Director Nancy Swanger for improving well-being of older adults
Nancy Swanger, director of the Granger Cobb Institute for Senior Living at Washington State University, was recognized by the United Nations as one of the top 50 people in the world for improving the well-being of senior citizens.
Swanger was honored as part of the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing (who.int) for her contributions to long-term care while developing degree and global certificate programs at the institute.
ATI Advisory hires Adam Bloom-Paicopolos as analyst
Adam Bloom-Paicopolos has been hired as an analyst in ATI’s Medicare-Medicaid Integration and LTSS Innovation practice. He most recently was a consultant at Pointe Health.
Bloom-Paicopolos earned both his master’s degree in public policy and his bachelor’s degree in government and politics from the University of Maryland.
OHCA bestows Special Service Award on Avamere’s Livia Thompson
The Oregon Health Care Association has bestowed its Special Service Award on Livia Thompson, senior life enrichment director with Avamere at Bethany, an Avamere Living independent living, assisted living and memory care community.
Thompson co-led virtual roundtable conversations with the OHCA, sharing expertise and mentoring fellow life enrichment directors across Oregon. She was recognized at the OHCA awards show.
