Senior placement franchise CarePatrol will be acquired by in-home care provider ComForCare Health Care Holdings in an agreement announced by the parties on Tuesday.

“We will now have the resources available to compete with the online companies with a superior model and a better return on investment for our assisted living partners,” CarePatrol founder and CEO Chuck Bongiovanni told McKnight’s Senior Living. Bongiovanni also is president of the National Placement & Referral Alliance, a national trade association for organizations that provide referrals and placements to senior living communities that was announced in September.

CarePatrol has more than 150 offices in 40 states, with local senior care advisers who meet with families in person at no charge to them to assess their needs and recommend assisted living, independent living, memory care, nursing homes and in-home care options.

Recently backed by private equity firm The Riverside Company, ComForCare has more than 200 franchise locations in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

“In addition to expanding our service offering and portfolio, our acquisition of CarePatrol illustrates our objective of finding new avenues to carry out our mission to help people live their best life possible,” said ComForCare CEO Steve Greenbaum.
