Shankh Mitra and Tim McHughhave joined Welltower Inc., formerly known as Health Care REIT.
Mitra has been named senior vice president of finance and investments, and McHugh has been named vice president of finance and investments. In addition to supporting the organization’s finance and capital markets teams under the leadership of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Scott Estes, they will work closely with Scott Brinker, executive vice president and chief investment officer, and the Welltower investment team developing and executing the company’s investment strategy.
Mitra joins Welltower from Millennium Partners, a global institutional asset management company, where he served as portfolio manager, real estate securities. In his role at Millennium, he managed an analyst team responsible for bottom-up underwriting of commercial real estate companies and portfolios, security selection, quantitative portfolio and risk management. Previously, he served as an analyst at Citadel Investment Group and Fidelity Investments’ Pyramis Global Advisors.
McHugh joins Welltower from RREEF Management, the global alternative investment management business of Deutsche Bank’s Asset Management division. As a senior analyst focused on healthcare, office and specialty sectors, he was responsible for developing sector-level underwriting methodologies, valuing individual securities and producing investment recommendations. He previously had been an equity research analyst at Northern Trust.
