It is no secret that the senior living industry is facing a workforce shortage. To address turnover and improve retention, Accushield implemented a software as a service-based workforce platform, Flex, with the goal of making it easier for employees to take control of their schedules. For its efforts, the company was awarded Gold in the Tech Partner of the Year category in the Senior Living track at the 2023 McKnight’s Excellence in Technology awards.
This category recognized companies that helped operators deliver better services or care or improve their bottom lines, ensuring the field’s continued success.
Customers who use the platform are seeing “dramatic” reduction in turnover, third-party agency usage and overtime, while simultaneously reducing the administration time needed for scheduling and shift call-out by up to 85%, according to Accushield. The platform fosters flexible scheduling through the use of templates as well as instant call-out features based on employee availability, mobile accessibility that provides real-time connectivity to schedules and direct in-app communication, as well as the ability to send open shift requests to customized tiers of employees.
The entry discussed Bickford Senior Living’s implementation of the platform in 52 communities, enabling it to save millions in overtime costs and staffing agency usage, according to Accushield.
Other award winners in the Senior Living track’s Tech Partner of the Year category:
