Brookdale New Braunfels residents Ann Hoover and Allen Seelhammer will marry today.

It’s been a busy autumn for Brookdale New Braunfels residents Allen Seelhammer and Ann Hoover. They met in October and fell in love, and the community’s Facebook page took the novel step of live-streaming their wedding on Wednesday.

Seelhammer, 78, and Hoover, 87, met in October, not long after Seelhammer moved into the New Braunfels, TX, assisted living community. It will be the second marriage for both. Bride and groom were widowed after 23 and 57 years of marriage, respectively.

“I don’t want to wake up because I’ve never been so happy in my life,” Seelhammer said.

“I kind of feel like a teenager again,” Hoover said. “I’ve got a cute little fella that I’m crazy about, and he acts like he likes me, too.”

The couple’s wedding day will be filled with festivities, according to Brookdale Senior Living. Early in the day, family and friends will throw bachelorette and bachelor parties for them. After a wedding ceremony in the main entrance of the community, a reception will feature a Christmas dinner and dancing.

Those interested in viewing the ceremony may do so here. Hear more about their story below.
