A new portrait of Laketown Village by a resident named Norman now greets residents and visitors to the assisted living and memory care community in Kenner, LA.

The community’s concierge, Judy, asked him whether he would like to create the painting, which includes the logo of managing company Pegasus Senior Living, knowing that the creative process brings him happiness. Happiness was especially welcome because Norman recently had lost his wife, fellow resident Carol. They had been married for 69 years.

Norman has been painting since the 1960s, attended art classes and dabbled in different mediums over the years, and also has sold several of his pieces along the Gulf Coast.

Judy was amazed at how great a job he did.
