A local Farmington, NM middle school has a new neighbor lending a helping hand.

Three River Estates Senior Living and Memory Care, an assisted living and memory care community projected to open in spring 2022, strives to help residents to stay as active and independent as possible for as long as possible.

The senior living community is already showing it is a good neighbor by supporting nearby Hermosa Middle School. At the suggestion of middle school shop teacher Jeremy McDaniel, the senior living community donated its leftover materials and supplies from the construction project to the school’s shop class.

“We are very grateful for their generosity and support,” said McDaniel. “This donation will enrich our program and provide our students with real-life experiences.”

Along with providing the leftover materials, the community also donated $500 to support the shop program and secured a discount for the school with Harbor Freight Tools, allowing the school to buy other necessary products.

“We hope this monetary donation, along with the discount will help the program succeed and reach as many students as possible,” said Steve Lien, Three Rivers Estates administrator and Farmington resident.
