Pegasus Senior Living communities across the country have been making and accepting Valentine’s Day cards for residents who are veterans.

Every day until Valentine’s Day, the company is welcoming anyone to send in or drop off cards at a box at the front desk of each community or to the company headquarters. Residents and staff members also are making cards for residents who are veterans.

The project was inspired by the story of U.S. Marine Maj. Bill White, a 104-year-old resident of Pegasus’ The Oaks at Inglewood in Stockton, CA, and a World War II veteran. He has received more than 100,000 cards, letters and gifts from people all over the world after a fellow resident posted a request on social media.
