Lois Bowers

Lois A. Bowers has been promoted to the position of editor of McKnight’s Senior Living.

Bowers was recruited to the McKnight’s team in June 2015 as senior editor to help launch an expansion of the brand — which at the time consisted of a bimonthly print magazine then known as McKnight’s Assisted Living but soon was to be renamed — to include a website, daily e-newsletter and social media. Webinars, an annual virtual trade show and additional products related to the brand subsequently were launched. With sister media brand McKnight’s Long-Term Care News, which focuses on skilled nursing, the brand also offers the McKnight’s Excellence in Technology Awards and the McKnight’s Women of Distinction Awards programs as well as the Clinical Daily e-newsletter.

In her new role, Bowers continues to report to Vice President, Associate Publisher and Editorial Director John O’Connor.

“This is a well-deserved honor for Lois,” O’Connor said. “Every day, she sets the bar for journalistic excellence in the senior living sector.”

Since 2015, the McKnight’s Senior Living team has captured more than five dozen journalism awards.

“The rapid accumulation of recent journalism awards is a testament to the hard work and excellence Lois regularly delivers,” O’Connor said.

On sister brand McKnight’s Long-Term Care News, Jim Berklan is now executive editor, Elizabeth Newman has been named deputy editor and Denise DeVito is now associate publisher.
