McKnight’s Senior Living Editor Lois A. Bowers won four awards for writing on Friday night at the Press Club of Cleveland’s 42nd annual All Ohio Excellence in Journalism Awards. The ceremony was conducted via Zoom due to the pandemic.

The contest was open to all professional journalists working in or publishing in Ohio via daily and other newspapers; consumer, trade, professional and business publications; radio; television; and websites. Awards recognized work completed in 2019. Entries were judged by out-of-state press clubs and other media industry professionals.

Bowers won first place in the Headline Writing – Online category for the article headline “With growth plans brewing Aegis looks to former Starbucks executive to fill president’s role.”

In the Digital Media – Analysis category, Bowers won second place for “Big senior living stories of 2019.” In the Digital Media – Blogs category, Bowers won third place for “Older adults: Images, reality don’t always match.”

Bowers’ final award came in the Trade Publications – Departments or Columns category, where she won third place for the editor’s column that appears in the print edition of McKnight’s Senior Living.
