$100 bills

The Mercy Medical Center Foundation has received a $1.5 million donation from the Wayne and Nan Kocourek Foundation to develop an independent living neighborhood within HallMar Village, a senior living community that will begin construction this year in Cedar Rapids, IA.

The Wayne and Nan Kocourek Neighborhood will consist of independent living apartments within HallMar Village, which should be completed in spring 2023. The 237-unit complex village is a partnership between Mercy Cedar Rapids and Presbyterian Homes & Service. It will replace the existing Mercy Hallmar residential care facility.

“When Wayne and I were presented with the vision of the HallMar Village project, we both knew that this was something we wanted to get behind and support financially,” Nan Kocourek told Mercy Cedar Rapids. “It is much-needed and will be an incredible addition to an already wonderful community.”
