healthcare worker interviewing for a job

Argentum and the American Seniors Housing Association have announced a new resource, Senior Living FastMatch, to help workers who have been displaced due to COVID-19 fallout find new employment in senior living.

The latest data from the Department of Labor shows that more than 10 million Americans have filed for unemployment in recent weeks.

Fastmatch uses artificial intelligence to evaluate appropriate positions for candidates and identifies the top senior living jobs for them in their geographic region. Senior living providers are invited to post openings through FastMatch at no cost through the end of September.

The recruitment tool is powered by Arena, a software company that applies big data and predictive analytics to help companies make more successful hiring decisions.

“Hospitality, restaurant, and retail workers … bring skills and experience that are a strong fit for many senior living positions, such as concierges, dining professionals and housekeepers,” said James Balda, Argentum’s president and CEO. “This talent-matching tool provides the technology and opportunity to quickly help workers and providers connect in this emergency.”

In addition to this new recruitment matching tool, senior living software company OnShift has created an expanded resource toolkit to help senior living organizations recruit and hire employees during the pandemic. The toolkit includes social media messages, tailored job descriptions and other materials to help recruit workers who have been laid off discover senior living.

“The senior living profession offers a variety of fulfilling career paths and combines many elements of service and hospitality,” said David Schless, ASHA president. “In this most challenging time for so many, it is extremely gratifying to help match displaced workers with high quality jobs and opportunities for advancement and career development.”
