Louis Collier
CEO of Arboreta Healthcare

Assisted 4 Living on Monday rebranded as Arboreta Healthcare in recognition of growth and changes within the company, CEO Louis Collier told the McKnight’s Business Daily.

“We got this company turned around at a really challenging time,” Collier said Monday. “This gave us a chance to shed a name that probably has some negative connotations with it.”

Formerly known as Trillium Healthcare, the company provides skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living and independent living at 31 senior living and care communities in Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Nebraska and Texas.

“It’s a pretty exciting time for us. We’ve got a company in place where it is a new company, and now we’re moving forward with a new name and a new brand that’s recognizable,” Collier said. “We’re very thrilled to be where we are today in this process that we started 12 to 14 months ago.”

That process involved making some changes, he said, to engage employees more fully and to ensure that the employee retention rate continues to improve. Arboreta Healthcare also added a nurse practitioner to every facility.

The company reported

  • Its revenues are on track to grow from $78 million last year to an estimated $118 million this year.
  • Census has improved from 937 to 1,215 across all communities, and the skilled nursing census has grown from 62 to 165.
  • Expenses have been reduced by the company becoming more efficient and entering into new contracts with preferred pricing; the expected annual savings is almost $10 million.

Approximately eight months ago, Collier said, the company started working to pick a new name and brand with partners B2 Communications and Roger West Creative & Code. Arboreta, according to the long-term care company, is the plural of arboretum, a place where trees, shrubs and plants collectively are grown to be preserved and protected. Because trees provide shade and shelter, the name was chosen to reflect the quality care the company provides to its residents and patients as well as Assisted 4 Living on Monday rebranded as Arboreta Healthcare in recognition of growth and changes within the company, as well as Arboreta Healthcare’s commitment to its employees.

“We will continue to refine our processes as we are now positioned to look for opportunities to grow,” Collier said. “But our top priority will always be providing a caring, supportive atmosphere for our patients, their families and our employees, which is why the new name of Arboreta works so well.”
