Senior living communities may have some new competition as the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread, according to an article in BisNow.

A 56-unit luxury apartment building in downtown Fort Worth, TX, is targeting older adults “who may feel at risk living at traditional assisted living or retirement communities during the coronavirus outbreak,” by offering them short-term, fully furnished rentals, said Brian Jennings, property manager for Cityscape Arts.

“Specifically, in this current situation, we are giving seniors in senior housing the opportunity for families to pull their loved ones out on a short-term basis during this pandemic and place them in a location where they are able to visit and still provide … the care their loved ones need,” he said, adding that several seniors and their families have already signed short-term leases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
