Chicago-based Enlivant is the first senior living provider to receive the WELL Health-Safety Rating for Facility Operations and Management rating for its entire portfolio, the company announced Wednesday. The recognition covers the provider’s 215 independent living, assisted living and memory care communities.

A seal from the International WELL Building Institute communicates to everyone entering a space that protocols based on evidence-based measures and that best practices for safety have been adopted and verified by a third party. Envliant joins the ranks of companies such as JP Morgan Chase, Empire State Realty Trust, T-Mobile, Planet Fitness and several sports teams.

“This rating reinforces the facility management and operations procedures that Enlivant has installed over the years, and it validates Enlivant’s commitment to a culture of good health and safety for everyone in its communities,” Enlivant CEO Dan Guill told McKnight’s. “It recognizes that Enlivant truly lives and walks the values it espouses, and that we are committed to creating a safe and healthy community for all our people — residents, employees and everyone who we work with day in and day out.”

He  said that the company’s vaccination and safety programs made its communities “among the most protected against COVID-19 in assisted living and memory care, and we’re thrilled to receive this validation of our leadership from IWBI.”

Almost 95% of Envlivant’s employees and residents have been vaccinated against COVID-19. The company also has enhanced cleaning and sanitization efforts, emergency preparedness programs and health service resources to support the physical and mental well-being of employees, the company said.

“Enlivant’s achievement of the WELL Health-Safety Rating for its entire portfolio of senior housing sets a high bar that gives confidence to their residents and employees alike, and we applaud their leadership,” IWBI President and CEO Rachel Hodgdon said.
