Construction on a joint venture between Belmont Village Senior Living and Baptist Health South  Florida topped out Thursday. Belmont Village Senior Living Coral Gables, a 10-story, 350,000-square-foot mixed-use property that will include commercial space along with senior living units, including independent living, assisted living and memory care is expected to open next year.

The project’s 18,500 square feet of ground floor commercial space will include “Live Healthy by Baptist Health,” offering a holistic approach to senior health, including a focus on preventive care. Live Healthy will be staffed by Baptist Health clinicians — including a nurse, social worker, care coach and dietitian — and will provide fast-tracked diagnostic services and lab tests.

“This project allows us to offer an entirely unique senior living experience in the heart of Coral Gables, one where locals can experience the very best in wellness support without having to leave the comfort of their homes,” Ana Lopez-Blazquez, executive vice president and chief strategy and transformation officer at Baptist Health, said in a statement

The project also will include retail, as well as fitness, nutrition and disease prevention resources.

“This is not only a significant real estate partnership, but one that prioritizes the health of our residents and that will have a positive impact on the local community as well,” said Belmont Village Senior Living founder and CEO Patricia Will, the 2022 McKnight’s Women of Distinction Lifetime Achievement Award honoree.

The building also will include indoor/outdoor spaces, a restaurant with an outdoor dining terrace, a casual bistro, a swimming pool, screening rooms, a fully supplied art studio, and exercise programs with physical, occupational and speech therapy services available.
