Senior signing contract

LifeStar Living’s Manhattan–St. Petersburg community in Florida has launched an uncommon program to draw prospective residents.

Marketed as VIP Access, people wanting more about the future waterfront senior living community can pay a $500 refundable fee by Aug. 15 to gain inside information about the community’s future amenities and condo-style living before reservations are offered to the public. The 93-unit complex is expected to open in 2024.

“I have not heard of widespread use of a VIP access package for advanced information prior to dissemination to the general public, but we know providers are getting creative with their marketing and sales tactics, Lisa McCracken, director of senior living research and development at speciality investment bank Ziegler, told the McKnight’s Business Daily.

VIP members will get discounts and other exclusive benefits, including future members-only events, travel and social gatherings ahead of the community’s opening, according to LifeStar.

“We know that LifeStar is advancing the ball, growing and innovating, so I’m not surprised to see them thinking outside of the box on things like this,” McCracken said.
