Wesley Harrison

A former nurse at an Oklahoma senior living community has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for the rapes of several women under his care.

Wesley Harrison, 57, pleaded guilty to six counts of second-degree rape by instrumentation and one count of sexual battery for assaults that took place at Forest Hills, an assisted living, skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Broken Arrow, OK. The related events occurred between June 2015 and January 2016, according to Tulsa World.

“As their nurse, the pattern we observed was, he would give them some form of either their medication or an extra dose of medication,” Kenneth Elmore, assistant district attorney in Tulsa, OK, told KJRH. “While they were loopy and under the influence, he would start to sexually assault them, and he would do so in a variety of ways.”

Harrison also will serve a five-year suspended sentence for the sexual battery charge after his release from prison. He will surrender his nursing license and is forbidden from ever working as a caregiver again.

At least one of the women involved in the case has filed a lawsuit, according to Tulsa World.

Investigators believe Harrison may have committed additional similar crimes, according to Fox 23.
